Biotech IPOs On The Rise In Mass.

Mass High Tech -- Private biotechnology companies are beginning to wade back into the IPO waters. The second half of 2009 saw four successful initial biotech public offerings nationwide, and two Cambridge-based companies — Ironwood Pharmaceuticals Inc. and Aveo Pharmaceuticals Inc. — have registered for initial public offerings in the past six weeks. Ironwood wants to raise $172 million and Aveo wants to raise $86.3 million.
