6/4/2009 12:50:10 PM

Paris (France), June 03, 2009 – Biospace Lab, a company specialized in the design and manufacturing of molecular imaging systems, announced today that the company, recognizing the growing need for high end imaging products in the Asia/Pacific area, has made a major commitment to this region.

In addition to an established distribution network in the region, Biospace Lab is pleased to announce the appointment of two new exclusive distributors for its product line, with LabChina Co. Limited and LabChina Taiwan Co. Limited, covering the People Republic of China and Taiwan respectively.

“We are very excited to add LabChina to our existing distributor network in the Far East” said Bruno Brisson, Biospace Lab’s CEO. “LabChina and LabChina Taiwan have the capabilities and expertise to provide a comprehensive sales and service support to Biospace Lab users in their respective territories”. Biospace Lab is also strengthening this extensive distribution network with the appointment of Dr. Riccardo Ambrosio as the Asia/Pacific Manager. Based in Taiwan, Riccardo will oversee Biospace Lab business and will be responsible for regional sales, product and technical support for all Biospace Lab products, as well as for the interface with agents and distributors. “We are anticipating excellent growth for our imaging systems in this region, especially regarding our optical system” said Bruno Brisson. “Dr. Ambrosio joins us with decades of business development and experience in instrumentation for biomedical research.

We are certain that having Riccardo with us will improve our services and support in Asia/Pacific, assisting our distributors”.

LabChina (www.labchina.net) has been involved in the supply and service of Laboratory Equipment supply for over 5 years. The company sells general lab equipment, but also focuses on specialized equipment, including tissue arrayers, biomedical flow measurement equipment for the laboratory and operating rooms and specialised control systems. LabChina has a staff of 42, covering sales, technical support and service. LabChina offices are located in the major centres, with branch offices and sub-distribution that effectively covers most of the PRC. In Taiwan, the company is based in Taipei and covers the entire territory.

Biospace Lab is issued from Biospace, a company founded in 1989 by Nobel Prize winner Georges Charpak to provide biologists with innovative imaging tools based on his discoveries in high-energy physics and particle detection. Since then, the company has pursued and created strong links with the medical, pharmaceutical and scientific communities to bring relevant and creative solutions to biomedical imaging needs. Created in 1996, Biospace Lab (www.biospacelab.com) focuses on high-performance imaging equipment for pre-clinical research in drug discovery and biology. In this field, the company has developed a comprehensive portfolio of ex vivo, in vivo, and now in actio multimodality small animal imaging solutions used by almost every major pharmaceutical company and many prestigious academic centers worldwide. Biospace Lab headquarters, development and production facilities are located in central Paris, France and the company has a subsidiary in Cambridge, MA USA.
