BioScale, the developer behind ViBE, a protein analytics system, has received an $18.8 million round of investment, according to federal documents. The Lexington, Mass.-based company has developed a system to detect proteins in bioprocessing, clinical, point-of-case, research and personalized medicine. It is not clear how the funding will be used, but it will likely be used to advance its protein analytics tools. The company did not respond to request for comment. The funding comes on the heels of BioScale’s positive study results. The study showed that the company’s tools have the ability to identify, measure and monitor the levels of target proteins and biomarkers in complex samples both ultrasensitively and reproducibly.
