BioOhio trustees have promoted John Lewis Jr. as CEO of the biological sciences trade organization after three months as interim chief. “His legal and entrepreneurial background will be instrumental in implementing a bold new vision that will lead to an expansion of the organization’s scope,” said a statement from Carol Whitacre, Ohio State University’s vice president of research and chairwoman of BioOhio. Lewis, who most recently had been vice president and chief operating officer in his 12 years with BioOhio, succeeds Anthony Dennis, who retired in April. The 26-year-old trade group has 430 members.
