Biomedical Strategy Expert Brett Giroir Joins Noninvasix Scientific Advisory Board
Medical device firm Noninvasix, Inc., developers of a patient monitoring system that accurately and noninvasively measures the amount of brain oxygenation in preterm infants, announced today that life science strategy expert Brett Giroir, M.D. has been appointed to the company’s Scientific Advisory Board.
“Dr. Giroir’s expertise in pediatric critical care and product development, as well as his background in advanced medical technologies from his experience at DARPA, make him ideally suited to help usher our technology to the neonatal and pediatrics intensive care units,” said Graham Randall, PhD, CEO of Noninvasix. “In fact, one of our investors commented that we couldn’t have manufactured a better advisor that aligns with our goals.”
Giroir, founder and CEO of consulting firm Health Science and Biosecurity Partners, currently serves in a number of high-profile advisory positions to global corporations, government agencies and academic institutions. He is currently Senior Fellow at the Texas Medical Center Health (TMC) Policy Institute; strategic advisor at the TMCx Innovation Institute; and an adjunct professor of pediatrics and tropical medicine at Baylor College of Medicine. He also serves on the Scientific Advisory Boards of the Biodesign Institute at Arizona State University, and the A. Alfred Taubman Medical Research Institute at the University of Michigan.

Giroir’s work has included national service as the Director of the Defense Sciences Office of DARPA, where he led ground breaking research initiatives in the fields of physics, materials science, engineering, mathematics, and biology. Most recently, he served as Chair of the Congressional Blue Ribbon Panel of the US Department of Veterans Affairs. Early in his career, he was Chief Medical Officer and Director of the Pediatric Intensive Care Units at Children's Medical Center and Parkland Memorial Hospital in Dallas, Texas. Most recently, Giroir was CEO of the Texas A&M Health Science Center.
Giroir received his undergraduate degree from Harvard University and his M.D. from the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center.
He joins Dr. Gary Hankins on Noninvasix’s scientific advisory board.
