BioData Inc. Appoints Adam Sartiel as CEO

TEL AVIV, ISRAEL--(Marketwire - November 14, 2012) -

BioData, developer of Labguru, a life science research and lab management service, announces the appointment of Adam Sartiel as the company's new CEO. Sartiel brings with him extensive experience from innovative life science companies, including Life Technologies and Compugen. BioData is supported by Digital Science, a technology company of Macmillan Publishers Ltd that is focused on making scientific research more efficient.

Adding Sartiel to our team allows us to better manage these efforts," said Jonathan Gross, founder and now former co-CEO of BioData. Gross will now serve as the company's Chief Technology Officer and former co-CEO Danny Klein will serve as the Chief Operations Officer.

Sartiel joins BioData after 15 years as an executive in both Israeli and American biotechnology companies. Sartiel most recently served as Invitrogen's (now Life Technologies) Israel Site Manager, responsible for all research and development and business operations. In addition, Sartiel held various sales, marketing and business development positions at the bioinformatics company Compugen.

Sartiel is a graduate of the Tel-Aviv University Interdisciplinary program and holds a Masters degree in Molecular Genetics, as well as an MBA. Sartiel was part of the Shiloh team at the university who discovered the ATM gene that helps control cell growth and responses to chemicals and radiation, work that was published in 1995 in Science.
