Bloomington, IN – June 1, 2011--
Statistics show that only fifty percent of businesses survive their first five years and BioConvergence has reached this milestone. BioConvergence LLC, a contract solutions provider for the life sciences industry, celebrated its fifth year of operations recently. Since its inception, BioConvergence has strived to provide expert service to life sciences clients by creating an environment where its employees and those of its clients collaboratively plan new product development and work together to navigate the complex and challenging path through clinical testing and to the market. In this tough economy, BioConvergence has achieved this milestone by growing and expanding its business.
After only one year of operations, BioConvergence expanded its facility, adding a variety of GMP storage conditions and clean rooms for sampling and dispensing of pharmaceutical products. In subsequent years, production and testing services as well as biorepository storage capabilities were brought online. The success of BioConvergence was not only achieved by its staff with decades of experience but also through the partnerships created with clients, contractors, and suppliers.
Indiana has proven to be a great place to start and grow a life sciences business. Local, state, and federal governments have provided abatements to enable the company to invest more of its dollars to hire staff, training grants to ensure all employees maintain their grasp of best practices in the industry, and the INSHARP certification program to recognize and support companies operating with exemplary safety and health management systems. Bloomington Life Sciences Partnership, BioCrossroads, Indiana Health Industries Forum, TechPoint, and Conexus have provided networks to prospective clients, collaborators, and suppliers as well as important market assessments. Likewise, BioConvergence is involved in supporting the efforts of those groups noted above and is active in many community-based initiatives unrelated to the life sciences such as Habitat for Humanity, United Way, and Big Brothers Big Sisters.
BioConvergence is demonstrating that growing a successful business includes serving its clients with services they desire, being dedicated to the health and well-being of its employees, partners, and community, and ultimately be committed to improving the lives of the patients its clients serve. ”We’re blessed to have such talented employees, clients, partners, suppliers, investors, advisors, and leaders who believed in us when we all we had was the idea of what we wanted to build and become,” said Alisa Wright, Chief Executive Officer. “Their collective commitment has grown as we’ve created and realized our potential to deliver more effective and efficient new product development and supply services.”
One of the early client partnerships was formed with Lilly’s R&D division. "Lilly congratulates BioConvergence on 5 successful years in business. We appreciate our partnership and the value it has created for both organizations and we look forward to continuing our productive collaboration," said Bill Heath, Senior Vice President, Product Research and Development, Eli Lilly and Company.
One of the employees who joined the company in 2006, Terry Arnold, Supply Chain Lead Operator, said “Watching us grow as a company has been the best part of my first five years. We are encouraged to step outside our comfort areas and make change. The experienced and dedicated people make it a fun place to work.”
