MANSFIELD, Mass., April 10 /PRNewswire/ -- NDO Surgical, Inc. announced that Bernard Haffey joins the company as President and CEO. He will also serve on the board of directors. Formerly Executive Vice President and Chief Commercial Officer at IntraLase Corp., Haffey brings valuable expertise guiding a number of early-stage medical devices and therapies to commercial viability and global adoption.
Haffey will lead NDO Surgical's research and commercial development efforts for the Plicator, the Company's minimally invasive treatment for GERD. He will focus on continuing to improve the reimbursement landscape while raising the capital necessary to elevate the commercial adoption rate of the Plicator procedure. IntraLase was acquired by Advanced Medical Optics (AMO) on April 2, 2007. Haffey will continue to support the integration of IntraLase into AMO as a consultant through June 2007.
Prior to IntraLase, Haffey served as CEO at NeuroVision, Inc., as well as Executive Vice President and Chief Commercial Officer at Summit Autonomous, Inc. A graduate of Colgate University, Haffey also holds an MBA from Cornell University, Johnson Graduate School of Management.
"This is a great time to join NDO Surgical," said Haffey. "Recently published data continues to demonstrate the efficacy and durability of Plicator technology for the treatment of GERD.
