Bayer AG to Set Up Production Base in Indonesia

JAKARTA, Sept 7 (Reuters) - A unit of German drug and chemicals group Bayer AG (BAYG.DE: Quote, Profile, Research) aims to make an expanded plant in Indonesia an Asia-Pacific production base for consumer care products, a newspaper reported on Friday. Hans-Josef Schill, the president director of PT Bayer Indonesia, was quoted as saying by the Jakarta Post newspaper that the expansion of the plant would allow the firm to gradually lift it annual production capacity to 2,000 tonnes of over the counter medication from 700 tonnes currently.
