EDN -- Designers of implantable medical electronic devices for cardiac rhythm management, neuromodulation, and neurostimulation therapies need ways to connect to those devices. Connection must often be made in a surgical environment, and it's thus important to minimize the time a surgeon needs to make the connections. Addressing this need, Bal Seal Engineering Inc, a provider of custom-engineered sealing, connecting, and conducting products, has announced plans to launch what it says is the world's first integrated seal and electrical contact system for active implantable devices. The new contact system can establish multiple contacts with a single set-screw holding the contacts in place.
