Averion International Corp. Names Howard G. Goldsweig, MD, As Medical Director For Oncology

BOSTON, MA -- (MARKET WIRE) -- December 14, 2006 -- Averion International Corp. (OTCBB: AVRO), a clinical research organization (CRO) specializing in oncology, dermatology, nephrology and medical devices, announced today the appointment of Howard G. Goldsweig, MD as Medical Director of the Company's oncology division, Millennix Oncology. In this position, Dr. Goldsweig will provide medical oversight for the Company's Oncology programs inclusive of protocol development, clinical trials conduct, safety monitoring and reporting, and regulatory dossiers submissions. Dr. Goldsweig will be based in the Company's Rye Brook NY office, and joins Averion from ClinPro Inc. where he founded the business unit responsible for oncology clinical trials.
