LOS ANGELES--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Ault Glazer & Co., Inc. (Pink Sheets: AULT)(“AGC”) announced today that one of its significant minority holdings, SurgiCount Medical, Inc., a medical device company wholly owned by Patient Safety Technologies, Inc. (OTCBB:PSTX) (“PST”), received commendation for its funding, participation and support in the Brigham and Women’s Hospital (“BWH”) and Harvard Medical School surgical sponge bar-code study. The study, sponsored by SurgiCount Medical, showed that using bar-coded surgical sponges during surgery detected more counting errors than traditional counting methods, both in cases where sponges were misplaced and counted incorrectly. The article entitled “Bar-Coding Surgical Sponges To Improve Safety: A Randomized Controlled Trial” referenced in the BWH press release can be found at www.annalsofsurgery.com.
