Asante Solutions, Inc. Appoints New CEO, VP Operations

SUNNYVALE, Calif., April 11, 2012 /PRNewswire via COMTEX/ -- Asante Solutions, Inc. (Asante), a medical device company focused on diabetes care, has strengthened its leadership team by adding David Thrower as president and chief executive officer, and Eric Steuben as vice president of operations. Former President and Chief Executive Officer Phil Hopper will remain as a special advisor and board member.

David Thrower held previous roles as chief executive officer of InSound Medical, a manufacturer of a disruptive hearing aid system that was acquired by Sonova Holding AG, and vice president of global sales and marketing at Align Technology, Inc., a global medical device company that pioneered the invisible orthodontics market. He earned his undergraduate degree in mathematical and computational sciences from Stanford University and his master's degree in business administration from the Harvard Business School.

Eric Steuben has broad corporate experience ranging from high-growth startups to world-leading corporations and has specialized insight into the medical device industry. Eric led the manufacturing, engineering, and operations teams at Align Technology and MicroDental Laboratories. He started his career in engineering, marketing, regulatory affairs and quality assurance at Varian Medical, a medical device manufacturer focused on the treatment of cancer. He earned a bachelor of science degree in mechanical engineering and a master's degree in business administration from Santa Clara University.
