Arthritis Sufferers Win Right to Free New Drug in England

Sufferers of a crippling form of arthritis have been given new hope after winning the right to free treatment with a cutting-edge drug. Charities hailed the surprise decision by the Government’s medicines watchdog to approve NHS funding of the antibody drug MabThera as a “triumph”, just weeks after it rejected free prescriptions of another effective treatment for patients with rheumatoid arthritis.
