Anutra Med Adds $5.9 Million In Potential Chair Time To Dental Practices In First Half Of 2016

The Catapult Group (Chicago, IL) and Contemporary Product Solutions (Virginia Beach, VA) recently conducted research on Anutra Medical's local anesthetic delivery system in dental practices around the United States. Both studies show an immense timesaving with the use of the Anutra Local Anesthetic Delivery System20 minutes per patient and 16.7 minutes per patient respectively.

The Anutra Local Anesthetic Delivery System precisely buffers local anesthetic, which reduces patient discomfort on injection and increases the workflow efficiencies of the practitioner. The majority of the burning and stinging sensation a patient feels when receiving a local anesthetic injection is due to the high acidity level of the anesthetic, not necessarily due to the needle. Anutra's on-demand dispensing system allows a practitioner to buffer anesthetic which lowers the acidity level thus bringing the pH closer to that of the body. This in turn reduces injection pain for the patient. Additionally, buffering speeds up the onset time of the anesthetic.
The average lidocaine injection can take anywhere from 7-20 minutes to get a patient numb and only works effectively 70% of the time. The unreliability of anesthetic causes major inefficiencies in a dental office. The studies cited above show nearly 40% time loss due to the variance in anesthetic onset time from patient to patient.
With Anutra, the results showed that patients consistently become numb within 2-3 minutes, more than 90% of the time. This allows a doctor to stay by a patient's side and immediately begin their procedure. As a result, Anutra saves an average of approximately twenty minutes per procedure.
Practicing dentist, Lisa Mayes, DDS of Preston Dental Center in Cary, North Carolina uses Anutra exclusively as her local anesthetic. "I anesthetize every patient with Anutra and I go to work in two minutes. My team loves me because I stay on time and my patients get out on time. It's wonderful," she says.
