Andrew Technologies, Inc. Release: Dr. Christopher Godek Becomes the First Plastic Surgeon to Offer Breakthrough HydraSolve™ Liposuction treatment

3/6/2013 8:56:43 AM

IRVINE, Calif., March 5, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Andrew Technologies announces the world's first ever availability of the HydraSolve Lipoplasty System. Dr. Christopher Godek at The Personal Enhancement Center of Tom's River New Jerseywww.personalenhancementcenter.com has now purchased and accepted delivery of the first available HydraSolve Lipoplasty System.

HydraSolve is a novel liposuction device based on the same patented Tissue Liquefaction Technology that was launched in 2003 by Alcon as the AquaLase® Liquefaction Device, a modality on the Infiniti Vision System, for precision cataract surgery. Hydrasolve combines natural saline solution with low levels of pressure and temperature, to liquefy only targeted fat tissue. Because fat tissue is liquefied, the cutting of fat by forceful thrusts of the cannula is no longer required. The specially designed HydraSolve cannula is manufactured with aperture edges that have a rounded radius of curvature that do not cut tissue. It is the energized saline stream, inside the cannula, that liquefies targeted fat tissue while preserving blood vessels, nerves and connective tissue integrity. HydraSolve achieves liquefaction of fat tissue by cell disaggregation, not by emulsification and the lysing of cell membranes.

Dr. Christopher Godek is board-certified through the American Board of Plastic Surgery. Dr. Godek graduated from Syracuse University, and achieved his medical degree from Boston University School of Medicine. He interned at University of Pennsylvania and completed his Plastic Surgery residency there, and was also a research fellow at Harvard Medical School. Dr. Godek is actively involved in several academic associations and professional societies including his ongoing commitment as officer in the Northeastern Society of Plastic Surgeons. Additionally, he has served on the board of New Jersey's Society of Plastic Surgeons in every position, including last year as President. Dr. Godek has been a scientific advisor to Andrew Technologies since 2005 and was instrumental in the design and technical features of the HydraSolve Lipoplasty System.

Dr. Mark S. Andrew, Founder and Chief Scientific Officer of Andrew Technologies stated "we chose to work closely with Dr. Christopher Godek in developing the HydraSolve design because of his biomedical engineering background and his excellent reputation as an expert plastic surgeon. We are thrilled that Chris is now the first plastic surgeon offering the benefits of HydraSolve to his patients". According to Dr. Godek, "From my clinical experience, I have found that HydraSolve provides faster, smoother fat extraction for the surgeon, with a quicker recovery for patients. I am pleased that my patients at The Personal Enhancement Center will be the first in the world to be offered a HydraSolve liposuction procedure."
