Amgen (AMGN) Announces License Agreement With Yeda Research and Development Company Ltd.

THOUSAND OAKS, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Sept. 19, 2006--Amgen (NASDAQ:AMGN - News), the world's largest biotechnology company, today announced that it has entered into an agreement with Yeda Research and Development Company Ltd., the commercial arm of the Weizmann Institute of Science. Under the terms of the agreement Amgen obtained a license under Yeda's rights in U.S. Patent No. 6,217,866 (the "'866 Patent"). Yesterday, Yeda was awarded sole ownership of the '866 Patent in an opinion and order issued by the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York.
