American Diabetes Association And Pursuant Health Announce Multi-Year Agreement To Include Diabetes Risk Test In National Health Kiosk Network At Pharmacies Nationwide

ATLANTA, Oct. 5, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Pursuant Health announced today a collaboration with the American Diabetes Association (Association) to connect individuals with the Association's Diabetes Risk Test via Pursuant Health's in-store, national health kiosk network.  The test will be available to the millions of kiosk users in more than 3,600 retail pharmacy kiosks to build public awareness of the risks for type 2 diabetes. Pursuant Health's kiosk will include the test for three years, beginning in November 2016 in honor of American Diabetes Month.

The Diabetes Risk Test asks simple questions about weight, age, family history and other potential risk factors for diabetes. The user's results are reported as a numerical score indicating low- or high-risk for developing type 2 diabetes. Those identified as high-risk are encouraged to speak with their doctor to learn more about ways to help reduce their risk or delay the onset of diabetes.

The latest diabetes statistics indicate that more than 8 million American adults have diabetes and don't know it. Another 86 million American adultsmore than one in threehave prediabetes, which means that their blood glucose (sugar) is higher than normal, yet not high enough to meet the criteria for diabetes. These statistics demonstrate a critical need for Americans to be informed about their health status and risks for type 2 diabetes.

The Diabetes Risk Test is available on the Association's website and in a printed version for health care providers and the public. Availability via Pursuant Health's interactive kiosk platform will reach new audiences who are potentially at high-risk for diabetes. Pursuant has kiosks conveniently located in retail pharmacies within 10 miles of 79 percent of the U.S. population, enabling the Diabetes Risk Test to expand its reach and touch more lives.

"Adding the American Diabetes Association's Diabetes Risk Test to the kiosk's collection of clinically valid health resources is an exciting milestone for Pursuant Health as the Company continues to strive for improved public health outcomes," said Ryan Sloan, Chief Marketing Officer of Pursuant Health.  "Through this collaboration, the American Diabetes Association and Pursuant Health hope to make a profound and meaningful impact that may ultimately help the millions of at-risk individuals across the country."
