Alpharma Inc. Says CFO Resigns, Names Interim CFO

FORT LEE, N.J., Aug. 30 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Alpharma Inc. (NYSE: ALO - News), a global specialty pharmaceutical company, announced today that its current Chief Financial Officer, Matthew T. Farrell has resigned as Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer effective mid-September 2006. Mr. Farrell will be joining another publicly traded company as its Chief Financial Officer.

Alpharma appointed Jeffrey S. Campbell as Interim Chief Financial Officer. Mr. Campbell joined Alpharma in 2002 as Vice President and Corporate Controller, and has been Vice President of Finance since April of 2005. Prior to joining Alpharma, he held several key financial executive positions at Ingersoll Rand.
