Almac Group Opens New Non-GMP Plant and Says "Send Us Your CV!"

A pharmaceutical company in Northern Ireland has announced plans to double capacity over the next three years - a move that could create up to 60 jobs. The expansion at Almac in Craigavon, Co Armagh, is expected to create between 50 and 60 new jobs as the facility develops. The posts will be in analytical and development roles as well as indirect support roles. Two new laboratories are to be built along with a new 13,400ft facility, following the completion of the first stage of a £6.5 million project. The new facility will focus on developing tablets for new drugs that have not yet reached the market. As the drugs are intended for use in manufacturing rather than human use, it is hoped that work will be able to progress more quickly due to fewer of the constraints usually associated with drug manufacturing.
