Almac Group Appoints Two New Vice Presidents

Craigavon – 08 July 2015 – Almac Group, the global contract development and manufacturing organisation, today announced the appointment of two new Vice Presidents at its Craigavon and Souderton Headquarter facilities.

Dr. John Robson has been appointed Vice President of Quality Operations at its Sciences’ business unit based in the UK, which offers API and chemical development services for all stages of drug development. He will be responsible for the operation of the analytical services business and overseeing quality across their sites located throughout the UK and US. In addition to his direct operational responsibilities, he will also be an integral member of the senior leadership team, focusing on strategy development and implementation to expand and grow their global operations.

With over 20 years of experience in a number of business leadership, quality and analytical roles Dr. Robson joins Almac directly from Lonza Biologics where he held the position of Global Head of Analytical Services. Prior to this, he served as Vice President and General Manager, Early Development at Covance, and Global Head of Bioanalytical Services at MDS Pharma Services.

Dr. Robson holds a PhD in Analytical Chemistry from the University of Plymouth, in addition to a BSc in Environmental Chemistry, and also holds an MSc in Organic Geochemistry from Newcastle University.

In a second announcement, George Tiger has been appointed Vice President of Global Business Development at Almac’s Clinical Technologies based in Souderton, PA and is responsible for commercial operations and business development.

Prior to joining Almac, Mr Tiger held the position of Senior Vice President, Life Sciences Sales for Health Market Science where he was responsible for the sales efforts across the life sciences industry. Prior to this, his experience includes over 12 years with ERT, a leading supplier of cardiac safety, respiratory, and eCOA solutions, where he served in a series of management positions of increasing responsibility in the US, Europe and globally.

With over 25 years’ experience in the field, he began his career with Abbott Laboratories, Diagnostics Division and holds a BA from Lafayette College in Economics and Business.
