YARDLEY, PA--(Marketwire - October 01, 2009) - Almac Clinical Technologies announced today
that it has been named one of the Best Places to Work in PA for 2009. The
awards program, created in 2000, is one of the first statewide programs of
its kind in the country. It consists of a public/private partnership
between Team Pennsylvania Foundation, the Pennsylvania Department of
Community and Economic Development, the Pennsylvania Chamber of Business
and Industry and the Central Penn Business Journal.
This survey and awards program was designed to identify, recognize and
honor the best places to be employed in Pennsylvania. It is intended to
acknowledge companies that have established a dynamic and productive
working environment for their employees.
Companies from across the state entered the two-part process to determine
the 100 Best Places to Work in PA. The first part consisted of evaluating
each nominated company's workplace policies, practices, philosophies,
systems and demographics. The second part consisted of an employee survey
to measure the employee experience. The combined scores of both parts
determined the top companies and the final ranking. Best Companies Group
managed the overall registration and survey process.
Jim Murphy, Almac Clinical Technologies' President, says, "Almac is very
proud to be named one of the Best Places to Work in Pennsylvania. The key
to success in our business is people. In order to exceed the expectations
of our clients, we must heavily invest to recruit the best talent
available, train and develop our employees, and provide them with the tools
to succeed. Our clients expect the highest levels of project management and
customer service excellence. We do whatever is necessary to make sure we
deliver on those expectations. This award strongly indicates we are doing
so successfully."
Valarie Higgins, Vice President of Clinical Project Services at Almac,
comments that employee development is part of the reason Almac has grown so
rapidly in the past two years. Higgins says: "We provide a variety of
services to help our clients, mainly pharmaceutical and biotechnology
companies, bring life-saving drugs to market. Part of our promise to
clients is that we offer the best possible opportunities for employees to
obtain new skills, learn from the experience of senior staff, and grow as
professionals. We believe that the key to our success is how effectively
our employees deliver on customer requirements, and we take great pride
when our clients succeed. At the end of each day, our employees know they
have grown as professionals and contributed to a healthier world. This is
what makes Almac one of the Best Places to Work in PA in 2009."
Almac Clinical Technologies will be recognized at the Best Places to Work
in PA evening awards ceremony on Tuesday, December 1, 2009, at the Hershey
Lodge & Convention Center in Hershey, PA. Rankings will be revealed at the
ceremony.
