AGI Dermatics: Demand for DNA Repair Formula Drives Growth of Remergent(R) Brand

FREEPORT, N.Y., Aug. 21 /PRNewswire/ -- AGI Dermatics, the bio- pharmaceutical laboratory that pioneered DNA research for skincare, announced sales of its Remergent DNA Repair Formula posted a 50 percent increase since Memorial Day and orders are already being received for the two line extensions expected to launch at doctor offices September. Executives attribute the unexpected sales surge to greater awareness among consumers about the harmful effects of sun exposure and the importance of DNA repair in treating photodamaged skin.

"The overwhelming popularity of Remergent DNA Repair Formula seems to coincide with recent media coverage of the clinical value of DNA repair in reversing the damaging effects of sun damage," said Daniel Yarosh, Ph.D., President of AGI Dermatics. "Dermatologists have been our biggest advocates and we've quadrupled the number of dispensing doctors year-to-date."

"I recommend Remergent DNA Repair Formula to my patients and believe it is one of the most promising products in skincare," said Dr. Debra Jaliman, a leading dermatologist in New York City and Assistant Professor of Dermatology at Mt. Sinai School of Medicine. "Not only does it protect and repair the skin, but it also causes no irritation and redness, even in the most sensitive skin."

Yarosh also reported the establishment of a waiting list for physicians who want to order the two new products to launch this fall: DNA Repair with SPF 15 and DNA Repair with SPF 30. The products represent the first time the DNA repair enzymes have been produced in formulas with SPF protection, combining "repair and protect" benefits.

Remergent DNA Repair Formula is a proprietary twice-a-day serum to encourage the skin's DNA repair mechanism to self-correct, treat past damage, and resist future injury when used with a sunscreen. Available only from medical professionals, the 7- product Remergent line is the first product line to use sophisticated formulas to target DNA repair, barrier re-building, pigmentary issues, discolorations from the sun and other skin concerns. A total of five new products - including the two new DNA formulas - will be launched by early 2008.

Yarosh also noted Remergent will double its sales force by the end of the year in an effort to keep pace with the interest in Remergent.

"Our company was built on the philosophy that it's not too late to reverse the effects of photodamage in skin," said Dr. Yarosh. "Soon, DNA repair will be as commonplace as daily sunscreen in a total approach to skin health."
