Affairs of the Heart: InfraReDx Founder Follows His Passions in and Out of the Office

Dr. James Muller recently stepped down as CEO of Burlington-based medical device firm InfraReDx, but at 69 he has no intentions of retiring anytime soon. He plans to start seeing patients again — after many years — and he is staying on as chairman of the company, which he founded in 1998.

“I don’t want to retire when we are 10 yards from the end zone,” Muller said. “But there comes a time when a scientific founder has to step away and hand over the reins to someone with experience in the sales arena.”
