Advanced Clinical Research Services Announces William Gannon, MD, as a Core Member of its Strategic Advisory Ecosystem
As a strategic advisor, Dr. Gannon has created step-change improvement in the “business of R&D” for the Life Sciences industry. In his 28 years of clinical trial experience, he has notably worked with Life Sciences companies to achieve R&D productivity and define why a particular product is ready for the market and how it can get there in the best way possible, as well as what the clinical focus should be. Dr. Gannon’s core competencies include effective clinical operations management, clinical operations plan executions, medical and safety monitoring, and regulatory composition and drafting.

Dr. Gannon’s accomplishments span across several leadership roles in multiple companies and industry sectors. He has had significant leadership positions in pharmaceutical advertising, medical devices and clinical research, and has clinical trial and development experience across multiple therapeutics areas, including, but not limited to, cardiac, oncology and women’s health. He has extensive experience in managing FDA submissions, strategies and approvals in all drug phases. Dr. Gannon has achieved FDA approvals for several New Drug Applications (NDA) and Premarket Approvals (PMA), in addition to a Biologics License Application (BLA). In addition, he earned approval for an effective prostrate therapy medical device, and worked on a vaccine that he had removed from clinical hold. The vaccine was later approved in Europe and is in process of being approved in the U.S.
Dr. Gannon credits his Life Sciences contributions to years of experience in multiple leadership roles across a diverse set of companies. He started his career as a general physician and has had the opportunity to be an executive in a couple of key CRO organizations, such as PPD and Quintiles. He now plays a strategic consulting role for clients. Bill says, “It has been advantageous to play key roles in multiple arenas to gain the broadest industry exposure possible. I have been able to take my experience in each role and leverage it to create more value to all Life Science industry sectors.”
Dr. Gannon is currently Chief Scientific Officer and Medical Director of Capital City Technical Consulting, Inc. (http://www.capcitytek.com/), a private consulting practice that specializes in medical consulting services and business and education solutions. He has previously held executive positions in companies such as CELSION Corporation, Vaccinogen (formerly INTRACEL), Quintiles MTC, and PPD Development (formerly PPD/Pharmaco). Dr. Gannon earned his Doctor of Medicine from Ross University in New York, his MBA in health services administration from The George Washington University in Washington, D.C., and his Bachelor of Arts from The Catholic University of America in Washington, D.C. He completed a residency in family practice at both Robinson Memorial Hospital in Ravenna, Ohio, and at Trumbull Memorial Hospital in Warren, Ohio.
