ADInstruments And The Jackson Laboratory Enter Multi-Year Partnership to Further Science Education

COLORADO SPRINGS, CO and BAR HARBOR, ME--(Marketwire - March 24, 2009) -

ADInstruments, a leading provider of high-performance data acquisition systems for the life sciences, has announced a three-year partnership agreement with The Jackson Laboratory, a nonprofit biomedical research institution. ADInstruments will provide technical experts, guest lecturers, PowerLab data acquisition hardware and LabChart Pro software for The Jackson Laboratory's world-renowned Courses and Conferences program. In addition to this in-kind support, ADInstruments will also provide funding for the program at the Gold Corporate Sponsor level.

The Jackson Laboratory has been an early adopter of the PowerLab data acquisition system, utilizing the system in both its own research capacity and complementing the agenda of several of its courses and workshops, including the workshop on Comprehensive Approaches to the in vivo Assessment of Cardiovascular Function in Mice (to be held in June) and Phenotyping Mouse Models of Human Lung Disease (to be held in September). Both courses will be held at The Jackson Laboratory in Bar Harbor, Maine.

Computers connected to the PowerLab data recording system, developed by ADInstruments, will be the primary tool for acquiring biological signals during the mentioned intensive multi-day training programs held at The Jackson Laboratory.

The long term goal of this partnership is the realization of multiple applications of ADInstrument's innovative technologies in leveraging existing mouse genetic resources used to study human disease.

"I am excited about the partnership with The Jackson Laboratory. It's great to see two leading organizations, with different expertise sets, cooperating to provide this fantastic educational service to the scientific research community," said Graham Milliken, president and CEO of ADInstruments Pty Ltd. "We at ADInstruments are very proud to play a part in training scientists at such a prestigious institution."

The Jackson Laboratory is recognized worldwide for its innovative use of technology in both research and training environments.

"We are pleased to partner with ADInstruments to enhance the training experience of our course and workshop attendees," said Senior Director of Courses and Conferences John Macauley, Ph.D. "The financial and in-kind support provided by ADInstruments will certainly help to provide excellent educational experiences at a reasonable cost to the scientific community year after year."

As part of the partnership ADInstruments and The Jackson Laboratory are closely collaborating on future event programming at The Jackson Laboratory to provide additional mouse-model physiology research skill sets to the scientific community.
