Acuo Technologies, LLC Hires Barry Gutwillig to Lead Business Development Team

6/6/2012 12:04:21 PM

BLOOMINGTON, Minn., June 6, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Acuo TechnologiesĀ®, the world leader in high-performance software and services for clinical content management and data migration, announced today the addition of imaging industry veteran Barry Gutwillig as senior director of business development. In this new role, Barry will be responsible for managing a large and growing list of Acuo alliance and channel partners.

"We're excited to have someone with Barry's broad background in healthcare IT join our management team," said Jeff Timbrook, CEO of Acuo Technologies. "Acuo has established strategic partnerships with more than two dozen best-of-breed companies, including leading consulting firms and suppliers of IT hardware, storage, PACS, telecommunications and other healthcare solutions. With Barry and his team focused on growing these partner relationships we've worked so hard to build, Acuo will be better positioned to respond to the growing global demand for vendor neutral archive (VNA) technology and related services. We believe he'll be a tremendous asset to our organization."

Barry has more than 20 years of experience in marketing, sales and strategic planning in the healthcare IT industry, including new business development through strategic visioning and alliance partnering. He's enjoyed success in healthcare institutions and technology organizations, public and privately held.

Prior to joining Acuo Technologies, Barry served as vice president of business development at Virtual Radiologic Corporation, a national radiology practice. Prior to that, he was a co-founder of Amicas, Inc., helping grow the company through various leadership roles in business development, OEM distribution, marketing and strategy. Barry participated in Amicas' acquisition of Emageon in 2008 and in the company's ultimate sale to Merge Healthcare in 2010. Throughout his career, he was responsible for establishing a number of major marketing and distribution partnerships with Epic Systems, Cerner Corporation, Dell, EMC and other companies. Barry began his career at Massachusetts General Hospital in 1991. He holds a BS in Business Administration and an MBA.

"I've been impressed with Acuo's success over the past several years," said Gutwillig. "They have done a great job of working with other best-of-breed companies to solve complex image management and data migration challenges for global healthcare customers," said Gutwillig. "I look forward to engaging with the Acuo partner community to help healthcare providers be better equipped for the future of clinical information management."

Visit with Barry at SIIM 2012, being held June 7-10 in Orlando, Florida, to learn more about Acuo partnerships and solutions for clinical content management and data migration.
