Acrobot Appoints First Director of Business Development

London, 24 September 2008 … The Acrobot Company Limited (Acrobot), computer-assisted surgery specialists, has appointed Rob Sawyer as its first Director of Business Development to drive sales of its novel technology and build further links with the orthopaedics industry.

Rob joins Acrobot from Tissue Science Laboratories Ltd, where he held a variety of roles including Export Business Manager, Head of Marketing, and Business Development Manager. Prior to this, he held roles at Wright Medical Technology and Johnson and Johnson Orthopaedics.

Rob will be responsible for two key areas for Acrobot; Business Development and Product Management. On the Business Development side, Rob will focus on growing and supporting Acrobot’s partnerships on a global basis and supporting and managing the Company’s relationships with orthopaedic implant companies. In the Product Management area, he will take on full responsibility for the Acrobot product portfolio, including strategic product development.

Graeme Brookes, CEO of Acrobot, said: “Rob’s appointment is key to the continued development of Acrobot. With an expanding range of products and alliances with orthopaedic companies, Rob will be crucial in supporting the sales of our product portfolio, and ensuring Acrobot continues to be successful.”

Rob has a Diploma in Management Studies, a Postgraduate Certificate in Engineering, and a BSc (Hons) in Engineering Metallurgy.
