Acceliant And Indian Science And Technology Ministry's CDSA Join Hands To Accelerate Clinical Data Management And New Drug R&D

SANTA CLARA, California and BANGALORE, September 12, 2016 /PRNewswire/ --

Acceliant, the medical industry technology division of Trianz providing advanced clinical trial data management solutions to clients worldwide, has entered into a partnership with Clinical Development Services Agency (CDSA), an initiative of the Department of Biotechnology (DBT), Ministry of Science & Technology, India.

As part of this alliance, CDSA will leverage Acceliant's robust solutions for its clinical trials that run under the Ministry. Acceliant's broader clinical trial platform will enable CDSA to seamlessly execute clinical data management and accelerate new drug development and research.

Commenting on the partnership, Vivek Gupta, World Wide VP - Sales, Acceliant said, "We are thrilled to partner with CDSA. With the pressure mounting on research agencies to meet the challenges of new drug development, Acceliant will give CDSA, a rich platform on end-to-end clinical trial data management solutions to solve critical challenges."

Interestingly, the Ministry of Health, Govt. of India and All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) are working on an ambitious pilot project in collaboration with Wellcome Trust, UK, to reduce the mortality rate among premature children by optimising treatment costs by 50%. This is only possible with efficient clinical trials for cheaper drugs. The study on neonates (newborn children) will be conducted for three years covering 900 patients.

Speaking on the occasion, Santhosh S. Nagaraj, VP Client Relationships, Trianz, commented, "We are happy joining hands with CDSA in its endeavours. We were chosen amidst the stiff competition at the market place. It reaffirms our commitment to clinical trial innovation and best in class solutions."

This association will strengthen Trianz's overall clientele base. Additionally, it is also a good opportunity for the company to showcase their comprehensive clinical trial data management. Together they can solve some of the pressing challenges faced by the CDSA in optimising drug costs through clinical trial efficiency.
