Fifteen months after splitting off from Abbott Laboratories, AbbVie Inc. is taking its first steps off its former parent’s sprawling north suburban campus. The North Chicago-based pharmaceutical firm told employees Friday that it will move up to 2,000 of them about 7 miles south to a leased office building in Mettawa.
