AbbVie and Biogen Have Ribbon-Cutting Ceremonies for Two New Sites in Massachusetts, Bring on 250+ New Jobs

Two big pharma companies are celebrating the expansion of their presence in the Bay State this week — one in the central Massachusetts town of Devens, and one right in the heart of Cambridge’s biotech hub — which will together add about more than 250 new life science jobs immediately and possibly more down the road.

Today, New York City-based Bristol-Myers Squibb (NYSE: BMY) held a ribbon cutting for a $280 million project to build two new buildings totaling 200,000 square feet at its 89-acre biologics manufacturing site in Devens. One is a Biologics Development Building, for designing processes for the early production of new drugs, and the other is a clinical manufacturing building, for the production of drugs for clinical trials.
