Abbott Move to Reassure Diagnostic Division Employees

The Chief Executive of the Abbott Corporation has moved to reassure employees within the company's diagnostics division that it will remain within Abbott control. Miles Davis has made the comments following the break down of the eight billion dollar planned takeover of Abbott's diagnostics division by General Electric. The sale would have included the takeover of the Abbott Diagnostics plant at Finsklin in Sligo, which employs 400 people.
