AAFS Recognizes Award-Winning Forensic Toxicologists of NMS Labs

WASHINGTON--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Three experts at NMS Labs will be recognized at the American Academy of Forensic Sciences (AAFS) meeting in Washington, D.C. Barry K. Logan, PhD, DABFT, National Director of Forensic Services, will be named President of the organization. Robert Middleberg, PhD, DABFT, DABCC-TC and Sherri Kacinko, PhD, DABFT will receive awards for their contributions to forensic toxicology. Dr. Barry Logan works with current AAFS President, Dr. Bob Barsley, and the organization’s officers to support the advancement of forensic science. With 29 years of experience in forensic toxicology, Dr. Logan’s research and casework experience centers on human performance toxicology, DUI/drugs, and postmortem toxicology. As a leader in research on impaired driving, he focuses on abused drugs and prescription medications and their impact on driver performance and crash risk. He has also led several nationwide initiatives in responding to the designer drug threat. With over 90 peer-reviewed articles in leading journals, Dr. Logan is recognized as a thought leader who makes a significant and positive difference.
