Viewport Medical Systems To Resell icad, inc.'s (ICAD) ClickCAD Fee-For-Procedure Offering

10/19/2005 5:08:42 PM

NASHUA, N.H. and SAN RAFAEL, Calif., June 6 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- iCAD(R), Inc. , an industry-leading provider of Computer-Aided Detection (CAD) solutions for the early identification of cancer, today announced that Viewport Medical Systems has signed an agreement to resell it's ClickCAD(TM) Fee-For-Procedure solution. The partnership will provide smaller institutions access to leading CAD technology typically only available to larger practices and hospitals.

"CAD technology has evolved from the early adopters of two years ago to the mainstream medical practice of today because of proven clinical efficacy. Radiologists now view CAD as a necessary tool to aid in the early detection of breast cancer," said Ron Paul, Managing Partner of Viewport Medical Systems. "Through our partnership with iCAD we are able to use advanced Internet marketing techniques to target smaller practices with limited resources. With ClickCAD, every mammography screening facility is now able to cost-effectively provide patients with the peace of mind that comes from using an industry- leading resource in cancer diagnosis."

The ClickCAD fee-per-procedure program works in conjunction with the iCAD Second Look(R) 200 system -- the market's only CAD system targeted to clinics and practices handling under 20 mammography screenings per day. iCAD's Second Look systems are designed to assist radiologists in the early detection of breast cancer during a mammography exam. With pricing starting at $5,500 and a cost as low as $8 per case, ClickCAD makes CAD more affordable and accessible to a greater number of doctors and patients. By purchasing a pre-paid procedure authorization key that allows the processing of up to 500 cases, there are no capital or long-term contract requirements.

"Our ultimate goal is to help doctors more accurately diagnose breast cancer," said W. Scott Parr, president and CEO of iCAD, Inc. "By engaging with Viewport Medical in a dedicated Internet marketing effort, we aim to make CAD technology more accessible to practices that don't have the financial resources of a large scale institution."
