DOXA AB To Present At Medtech Insight's "Investment In Innovation" Conference

10/19/2005 5:11:34 PM

Doxa will present the recently started clinical study in which distal radius patients are treated with Doxa's bioactive ceramic material. Doxa believes that this is the only bioactive, injectable material strong enough to be used in orthopaedic and spinal load-bearing indications. In the study, surgeons at Akademiska University Hospital in Uppsala, Sweden use the Doxa material to repair and stabilize the distal radius fractures through a minimally invasive procedure. A cast is removed after one week while in traditional procedures the patient is immobilized and can not use the wrist for 6 to 8 weeks in more invasive and expensive procedures.
