Inovise Medical Showcases Latest Release Of AUDICOR Technology At The American College Cardiology Scientific Session In New Orleans

10/19/2005 5:10:20 PM

NEWBERG, Ore., March 5 /PRNewswire/ -- Inovise Medical, a privately held cardiac diagnostic company, today announced the release of AUDICOR (R) Version 2.0 for the AUDICOR Cardiograph Expansion System (AUDICOR CE), the only clinical tool that integrates automated heart sound detection and analysis with advanced electrocardiography (ECG) for earlier cardiac diagnosis. The product will be showcased at Exposition Booth #3008 at the American College of Cardiology Scientific Session in New Orleans, March 7-9, 2004. AUDICOR Version 2.0 enables clinicians to rapidly and accurately assess patients presenting with symptoms of acute coronary syndrome or congestive heart failure, resulting in earlier administration of definitive therapy.

Bolstered by a sponsorship from the ACC, the AUDICOR technology was recently granted a CPT III code by the American Medical Association. This important step toward making AUDICOR broadly available to clinicians was taken on January 1, 2004 and will be fully implemented on July 1, 2004.

"With more than 60 percent of patients who present with chest pain yielding inconclusive ECG readings, we anticipate AUDICOR Version 2.0 and the associated CPT III code recently granted by the AMA will have a significant impact on physicians' ability to treat patients more quickly and effectively, ultimately leading to better outcomes for heart disease patients," said Patti White, CEO of Inovise Medical.

In October 2003, Inovise's AUDICOR CE, the initial commercial release of the AUDICOR technology, was granted 510(k) clearance by the Food and Drug Administration. The system employs multiple algorithms to identify and report critical diagnostic markers, including third and fourth heart sounds, as well as the subtle ECG irregularities associated with diagnostically challenging acute myocardial infarction patients. In addition, the technology takes advantage of correlated audioelectric cardiography (COR) to present ECG and heart sound information in a single-sheet report format that includes: 12-lead ECG tracings, labeled sound waveform data, graphic depiction of both acute and prior myocardial infarction information, and a graphical indicator for the presence of left ventricular hypertrophy. AUDICOR Version 2.0 features several key clinical enhancements, including the detection of ischemia and a new heart sound display format to optimize visual assessment.

About Inovise Medical, Inc: A privately held Newberg, Oregon company founded in 1997, Inovise Medical, Inc. has developed the only advanced ECG algorithm combined with objective, automated heart sound analysis for earlier cardiac diagnosis.
