MANSFIELD, Mass., Sept. 27 /PRNewswire/ -- Innovative Spinal Technologies, Inc. (IST), a privately held medical technology company focused on developing the world's most advanced minimally invasive treatments for spinal disorders, announced today two new executive appointments to its management team. Janet Webb has been named Vice President, Clinical and Regulatory Affairs; and Rob Brown has been named Vice President, Product Marketing.
Ms. Webb brings 25 years of clinical trial and regulatory affairs medical device experience to IST, with 12 years of experience in the spine market. Prior to IST, Ms. Webb founded MEDVantage, a consulting firm that provided clinical and regulatory services to numerous companies in the orthopedic and cardiovascular markets. Previously, Ms. Webb held senior management positions at OttoSensors, a venture capital backed start-up; Picker International, a $1 billion manufacturer of diagnostic imaging equipment; and Biometric Research Institute (BRI), later acquired by Quintiles. Ms. Webb earned an M.B.A. from the Executive Program at Weatherhead School of Management-Case Western Reserve University, an M.S. in Biostatistics from Georgetown University and a B.S. in Medical Technology from Towson State University. Ms. Webb is also a registered Medical Technologist (MT-ASCP).
Mr. Brown brings over 16 years of experience in marketing and product development for both medical devices and consumer products. Prior to joining IST, Mr. Brown held management and leadership roles in marketing and engineering at Ethicon, Inc., Johnson & Johnson Orthopaedics and DePuy, Inc., where he drove marketing initiatives, concept development and advanced manufacturing processes, and was responsible for leading several new business teams. In the consumer market, Mr. Brown served as Director of Product Marketing and led the Wave(R) business at Bose(R) Corporation, bringing to market some of company's most successful products; Wave(R) Radio/CD and Wave(R) Music System. Mr. Brown holds a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from The College of New Jersey - School of Engineering, and several patents in the medical device field.
