Aurora Discovery, Inc. Expands Its ChemLib Microplate Product Line For Miniaturizing Life Science Research

10/19/2005 5:12:35 PM

SAN DIEGO, Jan. 31 /PRNewswire/ -- Aurora Discovery today announced it has introduced several new 1536-well and 3456-well microplates to its ChemLib product line for low volume drug discovery, proteomic, and genomic research. Made from cyclo-olefin co-polymers (COC), these plates offer a superior combination of optical clarity, thermal stability, biocompatibility, low auto-fluorescence, moisture barrier properties, flatness, and chemical resistance (inertness). ChemLib plates are available in black, white, and clear for top-reading or bottom-reading fluorescence and luminescence applications and compound storage.

"The new ChemLib plates present an enabling technological advancement for fluorescence and luminescence research applications where low volume assays are required. By reducing assay volumes to 1-2 uL per well using 3456-well ChemLib plate, research laboratories have experienced substantial cost savings," said Charles Powell, Aurora Discovery's Vice President Sales and Marketing. The ChemLib microplates will be showcased at the Laboratory Automation Conference being held in San Jose, California from January 31 to February 3, 2005.
