NEW ORLEANS, June 8 /PRNewswire/ -- The National Cancer Coalition (NCC) http://www.nationalcancercoalition.org/ announces the appointment of Robert B. Landry III as President and Chief Executive Officer.
The goal of NCC, Landry said, is to "serve needy cancer victims and their families and to increase support of quality cancer research." The group is committed to enhancing the quality of life of those affected by cancer, he said.
Landry is a graduate of the Louisiana State University School of Law in Baton Rouge and of Tulane University in New Orleans. He has served as counsel for numerous health care facilities, medical service providers and non-profit organizations.
NCC, a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit corporation headquartered in New Orleans, supports cancer research and undertakes educational, prevention and medical relief programs throughout the world.
Through its Angel Grants program, NCC supports cutting-edge cancer research in the United States. It has also distributed educational materials and underwritten community health screenings. In 2003, NCC's International Medical Assistance Program provided free pharmaceutical and other medical goods for overseas medical relief in ten countries of Latin America and Central Asia.
